What We're Working On

Monday, July 8:

From Patty Sharrer:

Here's a photo of the Lucille Festa pattern "Minnie" that I just completed. I began the rug at the Woolley Fox Rug Camp held this past April/early May under the tutelage of Ali Strebel. I felted the eyes, whiskers and nose of the kitty as well as several of the exterior circle/flower centers. I also made quillies for the round spots on the kitty. This rug was great fun to hook, and I love the humorous aspect of this piece! This kitty now resides on the floor in front of the fireplace in my rug hooking studio!

I thought this would be a fun way to see what each other's working on! A great way to get feedback... or help. Send me any pix you want to share, or have questions about, and I'll put them here. Let me know maybe when you started, what size the cut is, and stories behind it you want to share.

I'm starting off with a piece Patty Sharrer just finished.

"I started this rug about a year ago, but kept putting it aside to work on other rugs and pieces.

It is hooked in a primitive cut, wide strips, mostly #9.

I dyed most of the 13 different shades of black and two shades of the tan.

It measures about 40 inches square and it is heavy! I am happy to finally finish it!"
